- Jacob ben Meir Tarn (Rabbenu Tarn)
- (c.1100-71)French tosaphist, grandson of Rashi and brother of Samuel ben Meir. He lived at Ramerupt, and later settled at Troyes, where the first conference of French rabbis met under his leadership. His Sepher ha-Yashar contains many of his tosaphot and novellae. He wrote studies of grammar and biblical interpretation, and composed liturgical poetry.
